Nandamuri Balakrishna(Balayya) made his debut in Telugu cinema with ‘Tatammakala’ in 1974, where he played as a child artist, movie was directed by his father the demi god of telugu cinema NTR, he is the sixth son of NTR. Movie was well received, that marks the beginning of Yuva Rathna Balakrishna’s stupendous career.
He is the only star to get six straight hits in a single year starting from Apoorva sahodarudu(1987). His stardom hits a new high with these hits. Since, then there is no looking back for him. He with his dialogue delivery and aggressive attitude able to create a place for himself among telugu cinema audience.
After NTR, Balakrishna is the only one who confidently attempted mythological and folklore stories and made them count with his unmatched performances. His prowess in delivering lengthy dialogues in the films like Bhairav Dweepam, Sri Krishnarjuna Vijayam and Sri Rama Rajyamm won him millions of fans all over the world. When it comes to award and accolades, Balakrishna has won more than his fair share. He has won two Nandi awards as Best actor for his performances in Narasimha naidu and Simha. He won best actor filmfare for his performance in Bhairava Dweepam.
