Speculations are at high that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to expand the cabinet on Sunday, before he goes on three nation tour. As per the reports available, Manohar Parrikar, Jayant Sinha could be included into Modi’s cabinet.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar may take the charge as defence minister. Manohar went to Delhi on Wednesday morning by cancelling a state cabinet meeting which is supposed to take up issues on mining lease policy. He met Modi and BJP president Amit Shah. After his meeting with the Prime Minister, he said that the discussion is not over the Central cabinet but on Goa related issues. IITian Manohar has strong credentials can hold important posts at Central with his clean image and excellent administrative skills.
Former Union minister Yashwant Sinha’s son and Hazaribagh MP Jayant Sinha may get MoS Finance berth.
There are chances of elevating Prakash Javadekar and Nirmal Sitharaman to cabinet rank. Subject to alliance at Maharashtra, Shiv Sena may also get an additional MoS in the cabinet.
