Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu wants the capital of the state to be on the banks of the river Krishna, from Nandigama to Vijayawada and from Amaravati to Tadepalli. It is said that Vijayawada is almost finalized for the capital and to facilitate the connectivity, government is planning to construct four to six bridges across the river.
Around 10,000 acre of government land is available on both sides of the river. This part is perennial due to storage at the Prakasam barrage. If this option doesn’t work out, AP has Nuzivid where 30,000 acre of government land is readily available. It is heard that Chandrababu Naidu is keen on river view of the government buildings.
Andhra Pradesh government is planning to have only green buildings in the capital zone and there will be no industries allowed. To ensure that the capital is pollution free, only service sector industries like IT will be encouraged and Manufacturing, Pharma and other Industries will be spread across the other parts of the state.
