2015 A Forgettable Year For Mega Heroes

After scoring biggest grosser in 2012, 2013 and 2014 in the form of Gabbar Singh, Attarintiki Daredi and Race Gurranm respectively. Mega heroes couldn’t repeat the same in 2015, although each hero has atleast one release this year they couldn’t even managed to provide a passable hit this year.

Pawan Kalyan appeared in an extended cameo role in Gopala Gopala where Venkatesh played the lead role. Pawan kalyan promoted the film aggressively but the results are not favoured, because of his less screen space. And most importantly, film as a script not supposed for mass viewing, it has a very niche subject.

Mega-Heroes

Most anticipated film from Mega camp this year is Allu Arjun’s S/o Satyamurthyas as stylish star is in good form after Race Gurram success. The film settled to the average status, because of the film unit’s over ambitious pricing. Although film is not a content failure, it certainly is a business failure, as film in many areas couldn’t reach the break evens. Film joined 50 crore club, which says where the film lacked.

The biggest jerk for mega fans is “Brucelee -The fighter”s disaster performance at box-office, as it marks Chiranjeevi’s celluloid come back. After the failure of GAV, Ram Charan pinned all his hopes in this Srinu Vaitla directorial. Ram Charan worked his skin out to release the film by the promised date and made sure it is filled with all the needed commercial elements. But Srinu Vaitla’s routine treatment and Ram Charan’s lack of novelty in performance, got the out right rejection from audience.

Sai Dharam Tej’s film in the direction of Harish Shankar only managed above average collections at the box-office.
Mega’s only positive came in the form of Varun Tejs’ Kanche this year, even though film hasn’t collected big, it was lapped well by critics and film lovers because of its concept and narrative. But he too seems have messed up the equation with his latest release, Loafer. Puri Jagannadh directorial Loafer opened to bad mouth talk. But as a hero Varun got away with good marks for his performance.

Allu Sirish hasn’t had a release this year 🙂
